Of all the gags that Gardevoir's new resistances torpedoed in X & Y I'm glad we got to keep this one. It's the weird wishy-washy ghost dilemma. Are they really dead Pokemon or just a creepy sub-set of Pokemon that got saddled with the term in superstitious times. Their own fault for hanging out in graveyards if that's the case.
Some of you might remember this as one of the beta tested scripts. Like how it turned out?
17th Jul 2014, 7:51 PM
She has a picture of her and Roll and Chansey by her bed, that's adorable.
17th Jul 2014, 10:28 PM
So like, this comic came out very late, I'm not trynna bash 404 or anything, it just did, and I'm not going to be able to color a comic next week, at least not until Sunday or something (not this coming Sunday, but the next one).
So in return, I leave you with a game.
There are 3 video game ghosts hidden in this comic, try and figure out what and where they all are.
18th Jul 2014, 3:30 AM
Yeah, sorry it was so late, guys. I misunderstood and thought it was DryKirby's turn. Totally my fault.
Otherwise, my first (and probably last) time drawing Glasses Gardevoir. This comic was also fun because I got to draw Gardevoir with a lot more expression than usual (no need to be professional in your own bed), and I found the results to be strangely adorable. I dunno.
28th Jul 2014, 2:26 PM
Well, it's been a week, and I'm back.
So I guess I'll go ahead and tell you guys the answers to my game.
The first ghost in Panel 1 was…
SISSEL, from GHOST TRICK.
Possessing a flower.
The second ghost in Panel 4 was…
THE SNEAKY SPIRIT from RHYTHM HEAVEN.
Popping up out of Gardevoir's ghost book, trying to sneak away.
And the third ghost in Panel 6 was…
THE SUNDEL BOLONG from DREADOUT.
About to jumpscare the bejeezus out of Glasses Gardevoir.

Yes, I do.
17th Jul 2014, 12:08 PM
How can Glasses Gardevoir be afraid if Gardevoir is asleep?
In fact, how can Glasses even be there without attempting to demoralize Gardevoir? How did Gardevoir manage to demoralize her own mental breakdown?!
Is this what the mean when they say things like "the plot thickens"?
PS: Also; holy crap, there are a lot of ghost Pokémon!
17th Jul 2014, 7:09 PM
No, I think it's Gardevoir's way of keeping Glasses Gardevoir in check.
Or maybe I'm reading too far into this.
17th Jul 2014, 12:10 PM
So, wait. Gardevoir scared her own split personality?
BTW, Gardevoir has read Pokédex descriptions of exactly 25 Ghost Pokémon. Next time, she should try to count Mareep.
17th Jul 2014, 4:11 PM
Hello Glasses Wearing Gardevoir. Long time no see.
As for the ghost type, while they are cool they do have a LOT of creepy pokedex entries. I don't blame Gardevoir for being afraid of them. I do wonder if she's read her own entry about being able to create a black hole though.
17th Jul 2014, 4:34 PM
17th Jul 2014, 10:27 PM
Also, if you removed the large speech bubble on the fourth panel, Glasses Gardevoir's expression could make a fun avatar.
18th Jul 2014, 2:50 AM
Or the fifth panel. Glasses Gardevoir's face in that panel would make a good avatar as well.
18th Jul 2014, 2:48 AM
So 404 drew this one. Not to be nit-picky, but didn't Gardevoir wear a nightshirt to bed? Or was that just a one night deal?
18th Jul 2014, 3:15 AM
Sometimes she likes to be risqué. ;)
18th Jul 2014, 3:27 AM
I hate it when I screw up like that!!!
18th Jul 2014, 3:55 AM
Eh, Giga's response was better.
18th Jul 2014, 7:24 AM
Hey, this is DryKirby64 on my phone... I'm on vacation right now, but I should be back by Wednesday the 23rd.
I'm pretty sure the ghosts are in panels 1, 3, and 4... The ghost in the 4th panel is the Sneaky Spirit from Rhythm Heaven.
Also, whenever I hear "Night Shade", I can't help but think of JonTron. Nightshade: The Claws of HEUGH.
18th Jul 2014, 2:25 PM
OH we got one!
But there is no ghost in panel 3, sorry.
18th Jul 2014, 9:07 AM
Okay Mighty, I'll try to start the "game" off.
I have no chance to guess what the game ghosts actually are, so I'll just try to point out where I think they are.
1. Panel 1 - Shadow above the flower.
2. Panel 4 - Shadow over Gardevoir's hand.
3. ...can't find. Thought for a moment that it might be on the flower in panel 3, but that's just a minor lighting colouring error that I would normally ignore.
20th Jul 2014, 2:50 AM
I think the third one is in panel 6 above Glasses Gardevoir's head. Though I have no idea what any of these ghosts are either.
20th Jul 2014, 9:46 AM
...I can see that one, BEARLY. I suspect that it might actually start in the previous panel, however, with the Doctor's head shadow. Still have no idea game it's from, though.
PS: It's "face" looks a little like:
20th Jul 2014, 3:16 PM
I'm gonna be upset if no one recognizes the one in panel 6, I loved that game.
Though I suppose it's a bit generic looking.
Anyways, ya'll are close.
20th Jul 2014, 8:03 PM
Ok, I'm actually kind of creeped out. When I had seen the one in panel 6 at the time I saw a much bigger ghost with a different face. Maybe it's because I was on my kindle last night but still.
20th Jul 2014, 8:07 PM
Well Darius didn't get the face
right, so maybe you saw the real thing.
Or maybe there's an actual ghost in your kindle.
Who can tell.
21st Jul 2014, 3:04 AM
I RECOGNISE it, but I have no idea what from or what it's called, or what game it's from.
That said, I tried to put the "." in the middle of the "|" and the "_" underneath the "|", but it didn't work. D:
Anyway, the panel 6 Ghost has it's back on panel 5 Gardeviour's back, and it's VERY HARD TO SEE face above Glasses Gardeviour's head in panel 6. It's easily the biggest of the three Ghosts.
21st Jul 2014, 3:06 AM
Sorry, it's back is on panel 5 Gardeviour's head. That's why the shadow's shaped differently in panel 5 than in panel 4, despite her head being in almost the same position.
18th Jul 2014, 6:33 PM
Wow, ghost types have the scariest Pokedex entries!
[SUBJECT NAME HERE]
16th Apr 2016, 8:55 AM
Yes they do. Three for you to look at:
18th Jul 2014, 10:24 PM
Keep in mind, a lot of the stuff in the Pokedex is a bit unbelievable.
I don't think Wailord are made out of Styrofoam, and yet that's what it would have to be to also be that size.
19th Jul 2014, 6:40 AM
I saw a theory once that said the more outlandish pokedex entries are actually exaggerated or completely made up...because the professors idea of research is to grab the nearest 10 year old and say "Here's a pokedex, finish it for me."
20th Jul 2014, 3:00 AM
Since I posted a reply I might as well post a normal comment while I'm at it. First-time commenter, medium-time reader, big-time fan. I love you guys' webcomic and I try to keep up with updates as much as I can. I've just been lurking this whole time and never bothered commenting (though strangely I read the comments a lot). Just thought I'd throw out my 2 cents.
20th Jul 2014, 4:55 AM
I did that for a long time as well. I just thought a CF account would help me be a little more involved.
20th Jul 2014, 7:49 PM
When you read the descriptions like that, you have to wonder why people complain about pokemon being captured and tamed.
20th Jul 2014, 9:21 PM
Hi guys, back from camp. That's why I didn't comment on the last one.
I honestly think that Yamask's (If I spelled that right) entry is the most creepy.
20th Jul 2014, 9:57 PM
all i see is a kind of sgily above the flower in pane 1 and another sgily between the book and gav in pane 4. also the candle/lantern/chandler pokemon ghost(last one was menchend in comic) creep me out the most.
7th May 2015, 9:17 PM
Ghost Pokémon sure are creepy...
